"My parents, Jane and Charlie, moved to StoneRidge just about two years ago. It has been such a positive experience for them in so many ways! On the social front, they have taken full advantage of all the activities StoneRidge has to offer. Even more importantly, we have had peace of mind that they are enjoying a new and easier lifestyle in an elegantly comfortable setting."

Memory Care Frequently Asked Questions
How is memory care different from assisted living?
Memory care is specifically designed for adults living with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia. At StoneRidge, The Cottage is a dedicated and secured memory care neighborhood that is under our assisted living license with specially trained staff, individualized programming, and a secure environment that provides both safety and quality of life. Assisted living, by contrast, supports residents with activities of daily living in a broader care setting. Both are available on the StoneRidge campus.
What signs might indicate that my loved one could benefit from memory care?
Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia can cause memory loss, difficulty with language, personality changes, and confused thinking. Signs that memory care may be appropriate include:
- Frequently forgetting recent events
- Difficulty making decisions
- Trouble recognizing familiar people or places
- Wandering
- Sleep disruption
- Increased agitation
- Needing help with daily activities like eating, dressing, and bathing
A physician can evaluate whether dementia or another condition is causing these symptoms and recommend the appropriate level of care.
